Ceiling Fan pull chains...
Since I'm always looking for a practical use for the stuff I create, some friends suggested ceiling fan or light pull chains. Here are some pics of some of my first drafts. Lemme know what ya think.
i am thinking about trying to make some of my stamp designs into mini clay characters. I miss "making stuff" lol so i figure maybe I can double dip and at least give it a try, though I don't know if i can make the same thing over and over again... hmmm
Hey Heidi - go for it. You have no idea how many times I passed the clay aisle in Michaels because "I didn't sculpt". One day I said what the hell and it has stopped since. It's an inexpensive thing to try and it's a lot more fun than I thought. I get tired of making the same thing over and over again too which is why I have a lot of 'one offs', but if people want to pay me, I'll be more than happy to make the same thing again and again. If you do it, make sure you post some pics!
According to my college degree, I should be a computer animator. According to the working world, I dabble in accounting by day and my artsy hobbies by night. Playing with polymer clay has become my latest hobby, hence this blog.
I was born to create. I love to draw and try out new 'clever, crafty' ideas. I've written and illustrated two children's poetry books, on a whim and I never know just what I might try next.
great idea! I think these will do well!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heidi. I'm going to try to see if I can't get them in a few local boutiques to see how they do!

ReplyDeleteGood luck.
Great idea with the pull-chains!
ReplyDeleteExcellent texture on the flowers and jack-o-mummy-lantern. But, I like things with faces best. You do awesome faces.
Thanks Roger! I generally prefer the faces as well, but occasionally get people wanting 'realistic' stuff...what can I say, I'm an art whore...
ReplyDeletethose are cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle, glad that you like them!!
